Life is Strange and Max Caulfield: choose the game before the edition

Compare the original story route with Double Exposure, then check platform and package contents.

If Max Caulfield is the reason you want to try Life is Strange, choose the story before the package. A collection, a newer game and an outfit add-on are different purchases, even when the same character appears in the artwork.

PlayStation Australia’s Remastered Collection page identifies the included original Life is Strange and Before the Storm. Square Enix’s Double Exposure selector separately compares current editions and platforms.

Start with what you want to experience

The earlier collection is the route to consider if you want the original Arcadia Bay story. Double Exposure is a different mystery featuring Max and parallel timelines. Read the official descriptions before choosing; this guide does not pretend the two are interchangeable or impose a mandatory play order.

Confirm the platform and full-game contents. Premium names may add outfits or other extras rather than another complete story. Check the Australian account price and current physical stock at purchase; the old $70 “most retailers” claim is removed.

For PC, the official Steam listing provides requirements. For a console collection, read the specific version and compatibility notes rather than assuming a new native version exists.

For another story choice, compare Until Dawn’s releases. If a costume is the next idea, build a separate inspired outfit list so gaming and clothing purchases remain distinct.
